Partum Engineering has been engaged to design new dual circuit 220kV transmission lines as part of the North West Transmission Development enabling the decommissioning and demolition of existing 220kV single circuit lines. To facilitate the new 220kV lines Partum will be involved with the augmentation of Burnie, Sheffield and Palmerston substations, and a new Switching Station at Heybridge to enable connection of Marinus Link into the Tasmanian 220kV transmission Network.
Existing 110kV Transmission Line sections:
- Realignment of sections along Sheffield to Burnie (4km) and removal of old sections to facilitate construction of new transmission lines.
New 220kV Transmission Lines to be designed:
- Palmerston to Sheffield (79km, 179 new towers)
- Sheffield to Heybridge to Burnie (47km, 107 new towers)
